Outdoor Gardening

A garden is a planned space, usually set aside for the display, cultivation, or enjoyment of plants and other forms of nature. Unlike the Tower gardening, we can do quite a variety more in the summer season, now we can add to the list, such as carrots and potatoes. Missouri is home to
almost all temperate zone fruit plants and trees such as:

  • Strawberries
  • Raspberries
  • Blackberries
  • Gooseberries
  • Currants

  • Blueberries
  • Grapes
  • Apricots
  • Cherries
  • Plums

  • Nectarines
  • Peaches
  • Apples
  • Pears

The process of gardening can be helpful to veterans on multiple levels.
Working the land can be significant stress reducer and a source of solace
for those still adjusting to civilian life and it has numerous
therapeutic benefits too. For example, gardening can provide opportunities
to build new social connections.
