Gardening

A garden is a planned space, usually set aside for the display, cultivation, or enjoyment of plants and other forms of nature.  Unlike the Tower gardening, we can do a variety more in the summer season, now we can add to the list, such as carrots and potatoes.  Missouri is home to almost all temperate zone fruit plants and trees.

Sustainable gardening will be one of our initiatives at the farm with 30 commercial size garden towers, we can farm year round, and during the warmer weather, we will plant what we can't fit in the greenhouse. The combination of fresh produce and canning will feed our farm year round.

With each new season, we build on our understanding of how our Veterans are being healed through horticulture. The participating Veterans play a vital role in sharing their experiences, reporting on their progress and working with our staff to advance the field of horticulture therapy. Using state-of-the-art methodologies, we track outcomes and then collaborate with leaders on next-generation holistic therapies.
